162. A Hand Colored Woodblock Book Marker by William Lescaze & William Sommer, circa Early 20th Century

Created by the two Kokoon Klub members for the famous Cleveland book seller Richard Laukhuff Books. Woodblock print in black ink on cream colored stock paper, later hand colored by Sommer and given as tokens with purchases bythe bookseller. Measures apprx 6" x 2-1/2". Ref: Kaplan, Philip THE MAKING OF A COLLECTOR: LAUKHUFF'S OF CLEVELAND. Introduction by Kermit J. Pike Akron Norther Ohio Bibliophilic Society 1990. In white mat and blue frame, entire item measures apprx 13"H x 9"W.
