| 527. Letter by Stefan Zweig (Austrian, 1881-1942)
Signed letter dated 1933, written by Stefan Zweig, thanking an interested person for having interest in his work. Paper apprx 10-1/2" x 8-1/4". Framed under glass, overall apprx 14-3/4" x 12". Provenance: The George Marek Collection, New York. Zweig gained first fame as a poet and translator, and then as a biographer, short-story writer, and novelist. His collections of autographs and manuscripts grew into a unique collection. The fall of Singapore in 1942 made Zweig fear that Nazism would eventually conquer the world.
