134. Attributed to August Rodin (French, 1840-1917)

Study for a sculpture of a seated woman. Pencil and pen on paper, framed under glass. Quick lines of figure are enclosed by a box with directional word "bas" to indicate the bottom. Image placed in upper half of paper. The number 9 in blue pencil on lower left and three other characters show through from verso. Not signed. Measures apprx 14-3/4"H x 10-1/4"W. In silk liner and gold-leaf frame, entire item measures apprx 22"H x 17-1/2"W. Verso has three tags from art show "Rodin: Drawings and Small Bronzes" at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA Exh. #721, May 1-September 8, 1963) as lent by Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Solomon.
