| 433. Large Denbac Pot, French, early 20th Century
Lovely round stoneware pot with turned rim is glazed in soft sage green and sea shades with areas of micro-crystallization. Striations caused through drip glazing. Measures apprx 6-1/2"H x 8"W at shoulders. Signed in blue with company name and France. The French pottery company Denbac was located in Vierzon, in the center of France. In 1909 the ceramist René Denert and the merchant René-Louis Balichon founded the pottery Denbac, the name being a fusion of their names. Producing pottery until 1952, the company's years bridged the artistic transition between the Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras. 250/350 Sold $161.00 back to catalog |
