| 466. Loetz Style Bowl, Austrian, circa late 19th/early 20th Century
Small art glass bowl with a ruffled rim. Features a beautiful amethyst oil-spot finish with a gold/green metallic spots over a lustrous purple ground. Interior of blown bowl appears to be black although proves to be transparent violet when held up to the light. Measures apprx 3-1/4"H x 4-1/2"W. Pontil is ground. No mark on bottom although Loetz pieces are frequently unsigned. The Loetz glass company, established 1840, was located in Klostermuhle, Austria and become one of the leading Bohemian Art Glass companies around the turn of the 20th Century. 50/100 Sold $143.75 back to catalog |
