| 39. Preliminary Painting for Aubusson Tapestry, French, 19th Century
Hunting scene depicts a small dog nabbing a duck. The animals are in a marsh-like setting with long reed leaves. Originally the tapestries were hung from walls, however they were later used as floor coverings. Image measures apprx 31"H x 27"W. In carved and gold leaf frame, entire item measures apprx 40"H x 36"W. 500/750 Sold $460.00 back to catalog |
