| 224. An Enameled Russian Kovsh with Spoon by Maria Semeyonova (Moscow, ca. 1896-1908)
An ornately enameled Kvosh in sterling silver with gold wash, decorated with exquisite pastel enameling. Oval body and crooked handle decorated with shaded organic shapes against a stippled background. Side of handles and bottom rim with turquoise beading. Small sterling silver ladle with similar designs on the back of the bowl and on the front of the handle terminating in a hooked end. The underside is hallmarked properly. The spoon is marked on the neck. The Kovsh measures approx. 1-3/4"H x 4-1/2"W and spoon approx. 4"L. 3,000/4,000 back to catalog |
