130. Silvere Croix (French, 20th Century)
A lot comprised of five portraits. Oil on board, all signed "Silvere Croix 1961" on the lower margins. Set of five contemporary portraits of young women. Framed in a silver frame and matted. Four of the five are of the same size. Image size approx. 14-1/2" x 9-1/4", framed overall approx. 21-1/4" x 14". The fifth portrait: Image approx. 18" x 7", framed overall approx. 24" x 11-1/2".

131. Kamil Kubik (Czech/American, Contemporary)
New York City, showing the Twin Towers. Oil on canvas, signed and dated "Kamil Kubik 2000" on the lower right corner. Framed in a gilt wood frame. Image size approx. 15-3/4" x 25-1/2", framed overall approx. 22" x 32-1/4". Kubik is an impressionist-style painter, born in Czechoslovakia, studied all over the world, including London, Prague and Australia. His travels enable him to paint on location; however, he spends most of his time in the New York area, Washington, D.C. and Paris. His work has appeared on the covers of M.D. Magazine, Reader's Digest and Avenue Magazine. A number of his paintings are in the personal collection of George and Barbara Bush as well as President Bush.

133. Father Train Timotei Tohaneanu (Romanian, 20th Century)
Reversed Painting Icon on Glass. Brown wood frame. Image approx. 16"H x 13-3/4"W, framed overall approx. 19-1/2"H x 17-1/2"W. Father Train Timotei Tohaneanu, born in Romania, a monk and a priest at the Brancoveanu Monstery, was self-taught on painting on glass for over 25 years, mixing for colors from Romanian soil. Among his many duties at the Monastery he taught the young monks the art of painting ions on glass and native scenes, more of the Transylvanian scenic arts and crafts. These crafts have been done in the past centuries and forgotten for over 70 years, until he brought back the art to life in all its form and beauty. He was the only artist in the entire country doing this fine art work. His exhibits at at Lugano, Switzerland and in Belgium, as well as Romania Brought him great acclaim. Some of his work is in the permanent collection at the Vatican in Rome.

135. Bonnie Sklarski (American, b.1943 )
"Afgahanistan Self Portrait", oil on board, trompe l'oeil painting depicts a dark-haired woman in a multi-colored dress. She stands before a window that looks out on a beautiful desert mountain. A set of red curtains is drawn to reveal the landscape. Board has been painted along the edges to appear as if there is a wooden frame. Measures apprx 24" x 32". Entitled this painting is dated 1977. Sklarski is well known for her trompe l'oeil paintings, providing a three-dimensional realistic appearance. De-accessioned property from an important Midwestern museum collection.
