"Grand Canyon." Oil on canvas. Signed "William Joseph Eastman" on the lower right corner. White painted wood frame. Page from an exhibition catalogue cut out and pasted on the back. Image approx. 29-1/2" H x 39-5/8" W. Framed overall approx. 36-3/8" H x 46-1/2" W. His work is in the permanent collection of The Butler Museum of American Art (Youngstown, Ohio), and he was a frequent Cleveland Museum of Art "May Show" exhibitor. Another very collectable Ohio native, from the Cleveland School. Provenance: From the collection of Tom Wilson, Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Wilson's collection spans several decades and includes wonderful Art Deco, sculpture, paintings and drawings from around the the world. Mr. Wilson is a well know cartoonist and creator of the character Ziggy.

"Indian Summer." Oil on board, signed "Allen Dean Cochran" on the lower right corner and dated '13. Image size approx. 29" x 41", framed overall approx. 33-1/2" x 45-3/4". Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Allen Dean Cochran received his art training from two very notable artists of his day, that being Kenyon Cox of Ohio and Birge Harrison of Woodstock, both members of the National Academy. Cochran moved from Ohio to Woodstock where he became a member of the Woodstock Artists Association. He exhibited with that group and at the National Academy, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. He was also a member of the Salmagundi Club.

Interior church view. Oil on canvas, signed lower right. Over wood keyed stretcher. Canvas apprx 24" x 30", in commercial gold frame apprx 29" x 34-3/4". Peczely studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest and then worked as an art teacher. He was painting regularly from 1924 on, however working with graphics and illustrations as well. He regularly exhibited in the Art Gallery and the National Salon, and was one of the founders of the Artists' Colony at Gyula.

Viski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of Tivadar Zemplenyi. He made study tours to France and several towns of South America. He started exhibiting his paintings in about 1913. He painted mainly animals and was interested in the problems of motion and form as well as the color effects of outdoor light. His most frequent model was the horse.

At the Academy of Fine Arts, Laszlo Neogrady was the student of Ede Ballo. His naturalistic landscapes and portraits were exhibited in the Art Gallery from 1922 on.

A photo-realistic painting of an evening winter with stream. Oil on canvas, signed "Neogrady Laszlo" on the lower right corner. Carved wood gilt frame. Image size approx. 23" x 31", framed overall approx. 29" x 37". Laszlo Neogrady was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1896. He was the son of the artist Anatal Neogrady and he studied painting at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts under the artist Ede Ballo. From 1922 Laszlo Neogrady exhibited his work at the Hungarian Art Gallery. He specialised in painting naturalistic landscapes many of which depicted forest scenes in the snow. These works are highly sought after and can be found in collections throughout the world. The artists extensive use of impasto creates an almost three dimensional effect in these works. His use of light is usually dramatic and his landscapes are very atmospheric.

"Marksburg." Oil on canvas, signed and titled "Finn Wennerwald, Marksburg" on the lower right corner. Image size approx. 27-1/2" x 37-3/4". Finn Wennerwald is a well-listed Danish artist. His father Emil was the major influence in Finn's artistic life. He was also an educated drawing teacher and taught lessons from 1929-43. He traveled in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, and Norway, and he held one-man exhibitions in all of these countries. He has exhibited widely in Copenhagen and other parts of Denmark.

Landscape, circa 1943. Oil on masonite, signed and dated "Carl Gaertner 1943" on the lower left corner, in a white washed wood frame, image size approx. 14-1/2" x 20-1/2", framed overall approx. 22" x 28". During his life Gaertner, a native Clevelander, was both a painter and a teacher. He graduated from the Cleveland School of Art, became a member of their faculty and taught there until his untimely death at the age of 54. His realistic style of work addressed a variety of subjects, including the early urban landscapes of the steel industry in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. The main focus of his work was always evocative of the specific mood he wished to convey. Over the course of his career, Gaertner was a well respected painter winning many awards, garnering both local and national recognition.

Influenced by primitive art and Miro's surrealism, Baumeister created abstractions that contain mechanical and organic forms. Title unknown, oil on canvas, signature not found. Assumed to have been trimmed down as imagery somewhat cropped. Mythological scene of floating nymphs playing on pipes and attired in swirling tunics. Composition and lines of whirling fabric paired with warm palette infuses this painting with great energy. Perhaps part of a mural piece rescued from a prominent Cleveland building, this painting is new to the market. In gold painted shaped frame, overall apprx 63-1/2" x 46-1/2".
