600. Glazed Figurine of a Rider on a Horse, ca. 20th Century
White and pink glazed figurine of a young girl on horseback. The bottom is stamped "Goldscheider USA" insignia. Artist "E. Straub", also stamped on the bottom. The figurine measures approx. 13"H x 14"W. Provenance: From the collection of Tom Wilson, Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Wilson's collection spans several decades and includes wonderful Art Deco, sculpture, paintings and drawings from around the the world. Mr. Wilson is a well know cartoonist and creator of the character Ziggy.

608. Cleveland School Pottery Vase, 20th Century
Pottery vase, organic shape with soft rounded edges and off-center protruding neck. Impressed with newspaper plates, overall brown colored, accents highlighted with a matte cream slip. Signed illegibly on bottom. Purchased from Claude Conover. This work is probably of his student. Mr. Conover was the Ohio Arts Councils recipient of the Cleveland Arts Prize in 1983 and he was a member of the "Cleveland School" which was first used by Elrick Davis a 1928 article for the Cleveland Press, titled "Cleveland's Art Pioneers Have Put City in Front Rank in Creative Field.". This has the original plastic insert. Apprx 21" tall.
