236. Mervin M. Jules (American, 1912-1994) "Young Musician." Lithograph on paper. Signed "Jules" on the lower right corner. Professionally framed and matted. Image approx. 17-1/8" x 7-1/2", framed overall approx. 24-1/4" x 13-3/8". From an early age Jules was encouraged by his parents to become a musician; however, he decided to teach arts by the time he graduated from Baltimore City College in 1930. He received his first one-man exhibition in New York City at the age of twenty-five. His career as painter, printmaker, illustrator and art teacher spanned more than five decades.
