"Doorway Number 1", Gouache on paper, not signed, in a wood frame. This painting was accepted for the 41st May Show at the Cleveland Museum of Art in May, 1959. Original acceptance tag is on verso. Image size approx. 9-5/8" x 6-1/2". framed overall approx. 18-3/4" x 14-1/2". Provenance: From the collection of Tom Wilson, Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Wilson's collection spans several decades and includes wonderful Art Deco, sculpture, paintings and drawings from around the the world. Mr. Wilson is a well know cartoonist and creator of the character Ziggy.
