100 Poems by 100 Poets. Color wood-block print on paper. Image approx. 14-1/2"H x 9-3/4"W. A poem by Kumakura- n.- Udaijin depicted on the image reads: "I hope some things are eternal. I love the peaceful scene of fisherman is pulling a rope of anothe fisherman's boat." Hiroshige (1797-1858), Japanese painter and printmaker, known especially for his landscape prints. The last great figure of the Ukiyo-e, or popular, school of printmaking, he transmuted everyday landscapes into intimate, lyrical scenes that made him even more successful than his contemporary, Hokusai. 200/300 Sold $115.00 back to catalog |
