| 340. A lot of Two Framed Miniature Paintings from India, 19th Century
Two framed scenes from India. Watercolor on paper with gold highlights and spot varnishing, each matted and framed. One is 4-3/4" x 7-1/4" image size, the other is 5-1/4" x 7-3/4" image size, with frames each is 10" x 12-1/2". The first image is Shiva receiving visitors by a river regarded from above by a procession and a cluster of holy cattle. The second depicts the infants Shiva and Radha being presented in a courtly scene. Two felled trees are also notably in the composition. Provenance: The Dr. Alvin O.
