672. "Hints Addressed to Proprietors of Orchards, and to Growers of Fruit in general, Comprising Observations on the Present State of the Apple Trees, in the Cider Countries Made in a Tour during Last Summer", by William Salisbury

London: Printed for Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme and Brown, Patternoster-Row. And, sold by the author at the Botanic Garden, Sloane Street. vol, 188 pp. First and only edition, dated 1816. Salisbury (d.1823) became an independent nurseryman, first in partnership with William Curtis and alone after the latter's death in 1799. He also published a number of works relating to horticulture, ranging from his Hortus Paddingtonensis of 1797 to his Botanist's Companion published in the same year as the present work. Grey paper boards with tan leather, gilt title and date, contemporary binding. Deckled edges, interior very good, plates very good. Foxing starting and pencil writing on fly paper..
