"Still Life with Apples". Ink, and watercolor on paper, no signature found, matted and framed. Image size approx. 7" x 9", framed overall approx. 13-3/4" x 15-1/4". Sommer was born in Detroit, Michigan, and studied with a lithographer for seven years. His work is found in many public collections including the National Museum of American Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He is a well known Cleveland School artist.
