Elegant pair of mother of pearl opera glasses with brass hardware. Faceted mother of pearl lorgnette handle is intermitted with brass rings. Inscribed "Iris Paris" and "I" logo. In working condition. "Iris" was among the most famous manufacturers and opticians. Such opera glasses were used as decorative evening-wear accessories during the 18th and 19th centuries. Glasses measure approx. 3-3/4" x 1-1/4", handle measures approx. 5"L.
