275. Antique Chinese Sewing Set Chinese paper mache octagonal lacquer box with intricate design with stylized leafs and outdoor scenes with men and women in gilt over dark brown background. Hinged lid; inside the box there are numerous compartments, two of them have a decorative lids with ivory handles, and ivory sewing tools, such as spools, needles and thimbles. Below the box there is a drawer with five compartments, one of them has a lacquered hinged lid depicting an outdoor scene of a man and a woman. Top and bottom drawer have locks; however the keys are missing. Two metal handles on the sides. The box rests on four gilt wood claw-like feet. 276. Two Chinese Ginger Jars with Lids Two pretty pieces of Chinese studio pottery. Jars are round with hand painted lids. First jar depicts three hand painted Chinese ladies gathered together in a garden and calligraphy symbols; the lid features scene similar to the one on the jar and some calligraphy as well. Second jar has similar scene painted on the body and the lid. Each jar has four small rounded handles in the shoulder area and a red stamp on bottom.
