376. Art Deco Clock Set (French, circa 1930)
Incredible Art Deco clock set from France. De-accessioned property from an important museum collection. The bookends measure 6-1/2" wide x 9" tall x 3-1/2" deep. The clock measures 22" wide x 15" tall x 5" deep. Made from beautiful polished marble in red, white, black and gold, this clock set features matching Art Deco bookends with a diagonal silver band on each. The clock has a brass figure of a dancing flapper girl. The diamond shaped face is set in brown marble. The face features stylized Art Deco numerals.

Mahogany case with gilt trim. White dial with Arabic numerals is marked "Seth Tomas 8 Day" and "Made in U.S.A." Bottom has four rounded feet and a sticker "COMO, Seth Thomas Clock Co, Thomaston Conn, Est. 1813, New York, Chicago, San Francisco. Measures approx. 5-1/2" T.

This clock features four glass panels: on top, front, and sides; however, right side panel is missing. Movement of the clock is exposed from top and both sides. Decorative handle on top. White dial with Roman numerals features manufacturer's insignia "Manufactures by Waterbury Clock Co., U.S.A." and "Jeweled movement". "C 3 - 36" and "4 - 1923" is written in pencil on the bottom.
