207. A Fine Ivory Marquetry Dresser, ca. 18th/19th century
An oversized dresser with ivory inlays; veneer and burl wood. Top surface has two square panel views of Roman figures in Chariots, panels surrounded by border design of helmets and flower baskets, four shields with crests at corners, flowing vines with flowers and birds. The front sports one smaller long drawer over three larger long drawers, all similarly decorated with smiling Griffons and floral vine borders. Handles are not original. Sides decorated with like subject of cherubic child with bow and arrows, holding a tambourine on a Satyr column. Above are shell crests with horns filled with flowers. Corners of dresser also with Satyr heads and flowers. Squared feet with castors. One lock may not be original. Thick glass top has protected the surface very well. Apprx 39-2/16" x 55"W x 26-1/2"D. Provenance: Decendants of The Cary family of College Hill, Cincinnati Ohio. Sisters Alice and Phoebe Cary published their first book of poetry in 1850.

208. An Monumental Empire Dresser
Highly ornate with beautiful carvings on and around the mirror; floral swags and ribbons, woman's face, fern and leaf motif. Veneered dresser has three upper drawers over two long drawers, all with wood pulls, front feet are carved talons on balls. Approx. 7'5"T x 4'7-1/2"W x 2'2"D. 209. A Tortoise Boulle Inlay Desk, French, ca. 19th century
An antique Louis XV style ladies writing desk with brass and tortoise shell inlay on ebonized wood. Cabriole legs, ending with bronze sabot feet, knees with bronze furniture. Bronze gadrooned edge around the table top with corner shields. Thick cut glass table top has protected the surface quite well. One drawer pulls, while matching the curved inlay aprons. Apprx 31-1/2"T x 51"L x 29-1/4"D. Provenance: Decendants of The Cary family of College Hill, Cincinnati Ohio. Sisters Alice and Phoebe Cary published their first book of poetry in 1850.

210. Massive French Country Cabinet, ca. 18th Century
French cabinet/armoire, with upper and lower cabinets, middle section with long drawer, overall of wood-peg construction. Burl front panels, star burst marquetry at top, beautiful metal lock panels and hand carving. Feet are replacements as the original feet probably rotted over time with mopping, moisture and other elements of the period. Lower apron had at one time had an appliqué vase with flowers-now only shadows and small wood inlays with pegs remain. Top cornice comes off, otherwise a solid one section piece. 211. A Beautiful Cherry Gate-leg Dining Table, ca. Late 18th/Early 19th Century
This table has two D shaped end sections with reeded accents and around the table base, standing on delicate twisted, tapering and knopped legs, two of which swing open to support the surface when leaves are open. Apprx 28-3/4"T x 46-1/2"W x 26-3/4"D closed and separated, joined as banquet table apprx 6'11"L and comfortably seats eight people. Provenance: The Cary family of College Hill, Cincinnati Ohio. Sisters Alice and Phoebe Cary published their first book of poetry in 1850.

212. A Secretiare a Abbatant, circa late 19th/early 20th Century
Mahogany secretaire a abbatant retains it's original black marble top, has a hidden drawer across the top and has beautifully detailed brass escutcheons and pulls. The veneered drop front opens to reveal eight compartments, central drawers flanked by two smaller hidden drawers on each side, surmounting three long drawers. Beautiful edging to marble. Apprx 60-3/4"T x 20-1/2"D x 46-1/2"W, measured at marble.
