83. Maria Lazareva (Russian, Contemporary)

"Alupka Evening". Oil on canvas, signed in Cyrillic on the lower left corner. Framed in a carved wood gilt frame with stylized leaves; canvas liner. Image size approx. 16-1/2" x 19-1/2"; framed overall approx. 24" x 28". This is a beautiful view of a small town Alupka, not far from Crimea. Maria Lazareva was born in 1979 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. In 1994 she entered the Art College of Saint-Petersburg named after Roerich, during a few years worked in different art workshops. In 1998 continued her education at the St. Petersburg State Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture named after I. Repin, Department of Painting. Studied at the classes of V.V.Sokolov. Participated in all union exhibitions of paintings by young artists of the Academy, the group exhibition “Art-Index. Artists of Saint-Petersburg’04” in November 2004. Personal exhibition on Christmas Charity Festival in December 2004 in Saint-Petersburg also. Lazareva is talented and young artist. Her works are in the collection of the Academy of Fine Arts ( St. Petersburg ), in museums and private collections of Norway, France, USA, Finland, China, Russia.
