| 181. Robert Laessig (American, born 1920)
"Soliloquy of Fall". Acrylic on paper, signed "Robert Laessig" on the lower left corner. Professionally framed under glass. Paper measures approx. 13" x 12", framed overall approx. 18-1/4" square. Robert Laessig was born In West New York, New Jersey in 1913. He attended the Textile Design School of Plauen, Germany for five years and specialized in the study and painting of flowers. Laessig then studied at Art StudentsÂ’ League, New York City under Bernard Klonis. An opportunity to become an art consultant brought Laessig to Cleveland where he is now residing. He has exhibited at many Cleveland Museum of Art May Shows since 1950. He has won prizes at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio and also the annual exhibition held at the Akron Art Institute. He was presented a distinctive award for the best watercolor in a show and an abstract painting was purchased for the Cleveland Museum of Art at the time of the 1959 May Show. 200/300 Sold $414.00 back to catalog |
