| 209. A Tortoise Boulle Inlay Desk, French, ca. 19th century
An antique Louis XV style ladies writing desk with brass and tortoise shell inlay on ebonized wood. Cabriole legs, ending with bronze sabot feet, knees with bronze furniture. Bronze gadrooned edge around the table top with corner shields. Thick cut glass table top has protected the surface quite well. One drawer pulls, while matching the curved inlay aprons. Apprx 31-1/2"T x 51"L x 29-1/4"D. Provenance: Decendants of The Cary family of College Hill, Cincinnati Ohio.
