"Penthievre" plate features green feather-edge and a landscape scene enclosed by green leaf and ribbon decorations in the center of the plate. Measures approx. 10" in diameter. Bottom marked with Wedgwood insignia.

734. Three Wedgwood Historical Commemorative Plates and a Platter, ca. 19th Century
Three flow blue plates and a platter. First commemorative plate depicts am old church; back of the plate reads: "St. Peters Church, Corner state and chapel, Albany-1800/ Sole importers the Van Heusen Charles Co./Wedgewood/ Etruria England"; plate measures approx. 9" in diameter. Second plate depicts a young couple; back of the plate reads: "The Return of the Mayflower (from painting by Geo. Houghton)/ Casting a farewell look at the glimmering sail of the Mayflower Distant, but still in sight, and sinking below the horizon -- The courtship of Myles Standish. Longfellow./ Wedgwood/ Etruria England." Measures approx. 9-1/4"in diameter. Third plate depicts a tavern; back of the plate reads: ""Green Dragon Tavern/ Union street Boston/ Styled by Daniel Webster/ The headquarters of the Revolution/ The grand lodge of Free Masons/ Also St. Andrew's lodge first met here." Stamped with Wedgwood insignia as well as importer's stamp and a copyright mark. An oblong "Willow" platter measures approx. 16" x 12" x 1-1/2." Bottom of all three items is incised Wedgwood.
