Signed "Lenoir" on the lower right corner of the hinged lid. Lower part of the box is in powder blue and features hand-painted gilt decorations. Focus of the plate is on the central medallion depicting an outdoor scene with a a shepherd two cows and a dog resting near a river; medallion is surrounded with thick gilt scrolls and leaves. Brim is decorated with four gilt cartouches with flower sprays. Heavy gilt accents throughout. Copper metal trim on the rim and bottom.
