Probably European, hallmarks not found. Repoussé base with scrolls, shell motif and leafy accents. Gadrooned bowl with traces of gold wash and twin handles. Open worked rim with flowers and stipple work. Cement weighted, approx. 8-1/4"T to top of handle x 10-3/4"W from same.

952. A Very Fine Russian Sterling Case, Marked Marshak, ca. 1900 and Another Fine Russian Sterling Silver Case, dated 1880
Marked by Russian retailer of fine silver, S. Marshak, who took over the 26th Artel. Hinged lid with raised decoration of two kylix and swan over swags with rosettes and ribbons. Lower left corner embellished Cyrillic letters rose and yellow gold, probably he givers and receivers initials. Interior hallmarked with retailer mark and 84 zolotniks hallmark with right profile head wearing diadem. Probable gold washed interior. Approx. 9/16"T x 3-5/8" x 2-1/2"W.
Second silver case chased like a leather trunk with straps, assayers marks quite visible but the Cyrillic makers letters are not, possibly D I or DN. 3/4"T x 3-3/4"L x 2-1/8"D.

955. A Group of Mexican Silver Belts, ca. late 19th/early 20th century
First belt hallmarked "M.H.V.", Hencho en Mexico 0.850 and consists of five sections which connect to create apprx 30"L belt, round medallions with organic shapes. Second belt also organic in design, linked with large flower medallion clasp, marked "Sterling Mexico", apprx 28"L. Last belt with square tabs and raised geometric swirl, and bird head clasp with turquoise eye. Marked "sterling Mexico", apprx 27"L.
