James Monroe (1758-1831) signed land grant, presidential settlement, of Champaign county, Cincinnati, Ohio. dated 1817, signed lower right on vellum, with official seal applied lower left. Framed under glass, document approx. 8-1/4" x 13-3/4". Overall with frame approx. 12-3/4" x 16-3/4".

1017. Harry Truman as President, Signed Letter, April 15th, 1948
With envelope and famous image of the president showing early edition of his "defeat". Typed letter on official White House letter head, hand signed "Harry Truman". Letter of interesting content being that the President refers to the Midwest states Nebraska and Ohio being upset by (Harold) Stassen, who at that time, early polls showed Stassen as the favorite of convention delegates and indicated that he would beat President Harry Truman in a head-to-head race. Letter approx. 8-1/2" x 6-1/2". Overall in mat and frame approx. 21" x 24".

1019. A Lot of Four Antiphonal Music Sheets, circa 18th Century
Pigment on vellum, lot is comprised of two sheets attched at the hinge, both apprx 19" x 15-1/2". These two have beautiful painted letters. Also is a medium sheet of apprx 21-1/2" x 15". The smallest is apprx 19" x 13". All have beedn removed from books. Suitable for framing.

1020. Braun and Hogenberg Map of Mexico and Cusco, Peru circa 1600 and a Map of Joust
"Mexico, regio et Celebris Hispaniae Novae Civitas" and "Cusco, Reegni Peru In Novae Civitas". Hand-colored engraving. Circa 1600. Two of the early views of Mexico City, the capital city of the Aztecs, and Cusco, the capital city of the Incas. This plate was published in "Civitates Orbis Terrarum", the first series of printed town plans, these two particular ones are the only plans from America. Latin text on verso; top left and right corners are marked 114. Paper measures approx. 15" x 21".

"Yorkshire, North Riding" and "A New Map of Dorsetshire Drawn from the Latest Authorities". Hand colored engravings on paper, each matted and framed. "Yorkshire" measures 7-3/4" x 10" image size, with frame 14-1/4" x 16-1/4"; frame is narrow walnut wood. "Dorsetshire" measures 14-1/4" x 7", with frame 10-1/2" x 12-3/4"; in a narrow brown wood frame, with French lined mat.
