The hand-pained manuscript depicts four men reading in a courtyard, two lines of script that the three men on the rug are discussing are in Farsi, not Arabic, although the form of the name in the inscription on the blue cornice at top left is Arabic. Gouache on thick paper/cardboard. Framed under glass. Wood frame is green and has hand-painted decorations. Image measures approx. 14" x 11"; framed overall approx. 16-1/2" x 13-1/2".
