| 316. Massive French Country Cabinet, ca. 18th Century
French cabinet/armoire, with upper and lower cabinets, middle section with long drawer, overall of wood-peg construction. Burl front panels, star burst marquetry at top, beautiful metal lock panels and hand carving. Feet are replacements as the original feet probably rotted over time with mopping, moisture and other elements of the period. Lower apron had at one time had an appliqué vase with flowers-now only shadows and small wood inlays with pegs remain. Top cornice comes off, otherwise a solid one section piece.
