"Mexico, regio et Celebris Hispaniae Novae Civitas" and "Cusco, Reegni Peru In Novae Civitas". Hand-colored engraving. Circa 1600. Two of the early views of Mexico City, the capital city of the Aztecs, and Cusco, the capital city of the Incas. This plate was published in "Civitates Orbis Terrarum", the first series of printed town plans, these two particular ones are the only plans from America.
