| 774. Set of Three Wedgwood Blue, Black, and Green Jasperware Medallions
This set includes: 1) Blue oblong medallion depicting a Writers' Buildings, a major landmark in Calcutta, India. The building is famous for its Corinthian facade. Originally built as a residence for the British East India Company's clerical and administrative staff, it today houses the main state secretariat. Back of the medallion is incised "Wedgwood made in England." Measures approx. 4"T x 3"W. 2) Black Jasperware medallion features Classical woman with tambourine. Back incised "Wedgwood Made in England." Measures approx. 5"T x 3-3/4". 3) Green Jasperware medallion depicts Ludwig Mond, a famous chemist and art collector. This medallion is adhered to a velvet background and neatly framed in gilt frame. Back is stamped "Ludwig Mond 1839-1906 Wedgwood Made in England."
