249. Leroy Flint (American/Cleveland, 1909 - 1991) and Mildred Ruth Ruck (American, 20th Century)

Untitled sketch of a camel's head. Pastel on paper; signed on the lower right corner; framed and matted under glass; image measures approx. 8-1/2" x 11-1/2", framed overall measures approx. 12" x 15".

One of Ohio's finest painters and printmakers of the 20th Century, W. Leroy Flint attended the Cleveland School of Art from 1932 to 1936. During his career, he exhibited his art regularly in Cleveland, Akron, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Chicago. Today examples of his work are included in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian in Washington, DC, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Akron Art Institute and the University of Michigan. Second work is a watercolor on paper study of autumn leaves by Mildred Ruck. Framed and matted under glass; verso stamped with artist information; image measures approx. 11-1/2" x 8-1/2", framed overall approx. 18-1/2" x 14-1/2".
