102. Cock Van Gent (American, b.1925)

"Boy." Oil on canvas, signed center, lower canvas edge. Verso with Cleveland Museum of Art tag "TR 9734/4". Older Bonfoey Company framing label. Inscribed "Cock Van Gent Gates Mills, Ohio, 1950 Oil No 114 Boy". Record card from the Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibit "American Painting Today 1950", was tacked to upper right of frame, now detached however present. In the original exhibition frame. Canvas approx. 36" x 16". Overall with frame approx. 42-1/2" x 23". Two of his drawing are in the permanent collection of the Butler Art Institute, Youngstown Ohio as well as the Cleveland Museum of Art.
