705. Towle Sterling "French Provincial" Luncheon Service for Eight
This luncheon service includes eight three-piece place settings with extra pieces. There are 11 knives (approx. 8-3/4"L), 10 dinner forks (approx. 7-1/8"L), 7 salad forks (approx. 6-3/8"L), 10 teaspoons (approx. 5-7/8"L), 5 dessert spoons (approx. 6-1/2"L), small ladle (approx. 6-5/8"L), a soup spoon (approx. 6-1/4"L), a sugar spoon (approx. 5-3/4"L), and a butter knife (approx. 5-7/8"L). All the pieces are marked "Towle Sterling French Provincial," knives are marked "Towle Sterling Handle Stainless Blade" on the blase. Total weight excluding the knives is 45 troy oz. The service rests is in silversmith's tarnish resistant cloth.

706. Victorian Luncheon Service for Twelve, ca. late 19th Century
This luncheon service for twelve features bone candles with carved palmette decorations, silverplated blades and forks decorated with an etched vine design. Blades bear "W & H S" hallmark. This service is neatly stored in a burled wood box decorated with a brass inlay escutcheon. Forks measure approx. 6-3/4"L; knives measure approx. 8-1/4"L; overall box measures approx. 2-1/2"T x 10"W x 12"L.

707. Community Plate Service "Old English Melon"
A silver plated coffee and tea service comprised of a tray, 16" x 26", a footed coffee pot with a carved wooden handle, a footed melon-shaped teapot with carved wooden handle, a melon-shaped sugar bowl with lid, a creamer, and a waste container. Each lid is a cast sprig and blosssom form. The tray bears the inscription, "You Know What We Wish You...The Bastard's Club...Nov 19 1939". Each piece has the maker's marks on the bottom.

710. Theatre Actress May Yohe (1869-1938), Enameled Cigaratte Case (English, 1894-95)
Possibly made by George Hunter. English silver case with gold washed interior, hallmarked. Exterior inscribed with block lettering, with description of the actress's career and history, inscribed at a later date, after 1938. Case lid enamled with hand painted portrait of the actress in costume. Approx. 3-1/8" square. Sold by H. Lewis & Co.
William Hammerstein hired May Yohe for $1,500 a week to sing at his New York Theatre, and not so incidentally, to show the famous Hope Diamond as her first husband, Lord Henry Francis Hope Pelham-Clinton, was the owner of the Hope Diamond.

712. A Sterling Silver Compact in a Georg Jensen Box
A delicate sterling silver ladies' compact with hinged lid. The compact is 2-3/8" square x 1/2" tall. The exterior perimeter is fluted and has an applied leaf and vine decoration at one corner. The interior of the hinged lid has a mirror with a separate fluted silver rim insert. The base has a circular hinged lid and contains a small powder puff with a wool felt surround. The lid is marked "Sterling" and has a maker's mark as well, though it is indistinct. The compact comes with a grey felt protective bag from Georg Jensen, Inc., New York and a cardboard box with a white satin interior also marked from Georg Jensen, Inc.
