A decorative wood inlaid panel, self-framed, with an inlaid wood foliate border and an image of a carriage drawn by four horses with two figures in wood and in ivory or bone. The inlay work is incised and embellished with a linear dark detailing. The back is braced by three wooden cross pieces, 11-3/4' H x 27-1/4" W.

Modern interpretation of an Olmec civilization shaman's mask. The most well-known aspect of shamanism is the ability to assume the powers of animals associated with the shaman. Curved up lips and slit eyes in this particular mask represent the shaman assuming the powers of a jaguar. Eyebrows in the form of eagle represent the ability of the shaman's soul to travel trough the heavens, the earth, and the underworld. Carved out of white marble with grey striations. Overall this mask measures approx. 14" x 10" x 4" and is quite heavy.

"Bugs Persona". Bob Clampett; Masters Collection Limited edition cel issued in 1993, #159/750, matted and framed, 15-3/4" x 13" image size, with frame overall 25" x 22". Certificate of authenticity on verso. This collector's piece was made by silkscreening the outline on a clear acetate sheet with hand coloring on the reverse side. The drawings in the background are printed on the backing board.

The images are similar to oriental rug designs. Framer's tags on verso from St. Louis, MO.
