Flattened bulbous form with flared base and faux figural, lid features a large ring decoration. The urn is decorated in a majolica istoriato style, with glaze palette including such colors as ochre, olive brown, bright cobalt blue among many others. Very nice luster finish. Bottom is marked with a maker's mark. With the stopper this urn measures approx. 16"T x 10"W.

Overall body is decorated with floral scrolls in subdued hues and accented with raised gilt. Small gilt handles applied diametrically on shoulders. Green "Hand-painted, Nippon" stamp on bottom. Measures approx. 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" at shoulders.
