Each is like matted and framed in pretty gilt frames with tiny floral decorations, each has a slightly varying sight size, with frames overall size 16-1/2" x 12-1/2".

258. Lucius Rossi (Italian, 19th Century)
"The Actor". Watercolor, signd in the lower right corner, matted and framed under glass, approx. 15" x 9", with frame overall 27" x 20". A slender actor stands beside a fence surrounded by foliage. The face of the actor is in deep shadow from the large picture hat. The lace gloves and the two chantelaines attached at the waist are nice details. This sort of cross-costuming was often done at the time in the theatre. The images of this nature have since become very collectable.

Courting in a garden. Watercolor on paper, signed in the lower right corner, inscribed "Roma 1915", framed in a modern ornate frame under glass, image size 17-1/4" x 13", paper is trimmed to fit into the 20" x 16" frame, with frame overall 23" x 19". A young man in early 19th Century dress courts a beautiful lady in a garden setting. The lady coyly looks away as the young man, who has removed his hat, regards her directly. She wears a lovely spring dress and jacket, and a flowered hat tied to the side of her cheek, and she carries a parasol. A red flowering tree spreads around the pair as they rest in its shade.
