147. Emile Albert Gruppe (American, 1896-1978) "Nymphs". Gruppe was originally from Rochester, New York. His signature works are marine subjects around New England, but he is also known for landscapes and portraits. He developed a very modern impressionist style, having been influenced greatly by Monet.
