"Piscis Austrinus," (The Southern Fish), contemporary installation under glass inside the wood case using toned and hand-colored photographs, collage, text, peppercorn spices, and hardware. Signed in pen on sticker, affixed to bottom of piece. The text reads "I am looking/ I believe what I see/ I am thinking about what i see/ I see something I've never seen before/ I'm telling you about things I did not see/ I don't know what I'm seeing/ I'd like to tell you what I see/ I don't believe I see this/ I'm unsure of seeing." The box has a brass knob handle and a plaque with the installation's title. Apprx 16" x 16" x 2-1/4". Michael Loderstedt is an Assistant Professor at the Kent State University. Previously he taught at the College of Wooster and University of Akron. He has exhibited at the Akron Art Museum, the Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art, and the Cleveland Museum of Art May Show. Loderstedt received a BFA from East Carolina University in Greenville and MFA from Kent State University. (Source: Cleveland Museum of Art)
