"Rescue at Sea". Oil on canvas, no signature found, framed in an ornate carved gilt frame that has been painted over, canvas size 16" x 20", with frame overall 21-1/2" x 25-1/2". Incised into the inner rim of the stretcher is "Rescue at Sea...Robert Hadley...Salem 1847...For Anne. A typed label to that effect is also on the back of the frame.
