Watercolor on paper, signed in the lower right corner, inscribed "Roma 1915", framed in a modern ornate frame under glass, image size 17-1/4" x 13", paper is trimmed to fit into the 20" x 16" frame, with frame overall 23" x 19". A young man in early 19th Century dress courts a beautiful lady in a garden setting. The lady coyly looks away as the young man, who has removed his hat, regards her directly. She wears a lovely spring dress and jacket, and a flowered hat tied to the side of her cheek, and she carries a parasol. A red flowering tree spreads around the pair as they rest in its shade.
