Oval shaped container with hinged lid. Silver over brass with chased design and inscription. Raised on cylindrical feet, cast bow handle and round closure. Approx. 4"T x 5-1/2" x 4". Marked on hinge. Etrog (Hebrew: ?????) is one of several varieties of citron, a citrus fruit of the orange and lemon family (Citrus medica var. Etrog). It is one of the Four Species used in a special waving ceremony during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. The Festival of Sukkot begins on the fifth day after Yom Kippur at the end of the High Holidays.
