A delicate sterling silver ladies' compact with hinged lid. The compact is 2-3/8" square x 1/2" tall. The exterior perimeter is fluted and has an applied leaf and vine decoration at one corner. The interior of the hinged lid has a mirror with a separate fluted silver rim insert. The base has a circular hinged lid and contains a small powder puff with a wool felt surround. The lid is marked "Sterling" and has a maker's mark as well, though it is indistinct. The compact comes with a grey felt protective bag from Georg Jensen, Inc., New York and a cardboard box with a white satin interior also marked from Georg Jensen, Inc.
