| 458. Impressive Fireplace Screen & Fender, ca. early 20th Century
Two items offered together as one lot. First a French Rococo style fender. Two "C" scrolls supported seated cherubic putti, with long branch extending overhead. Wave and rosette pierced open panel connect the two, apprx 23-1/2"T x 47"L x 6"D. Next, an American style Empire piece manufactured by the M.L. Company of Philadelphia. Polished brass with silvered accents; classical head in profile and winged panther surmounted oversized paw. Pierced fan opens and collects in center bracket. Apprx 32"T, base 14"L x 12-1/2"D.
