An oblong silver purse decorated with yellow and rose gold, silver and jewelled appliques over an engraved design of geometric shapes. The appliques include a tree branch, names "Fedya" and "Mitya", letter A, an intaglio bead with a cat, an anchor with a crossed heart, and a Venus and Cupid decoration. Original ruby red interior is worn. Chain handles. Hallmarks include an 84 zolotnik assayers mark and a maker's L. G. mark in Cyrillic , possibly of S. Goppè. Overall the purse measures approx. 6-3/8"L x 2-2/4"W x 1/2"T.

409. A Sterling Silver Ladies' Minaudiere
A delicate sterling silver ladies' compact, marked "925" and hallmarked, satchel shaped, 1"H x 3"W, with an engraved ribbed surface and a foliate trim bordering each side, and with a small cabachon sapphire on the catch. Inside the metal surfaces are chased in gold. There is one large hinged compartment with a celluloid writing surface on the reverse side of the mirror and two smaller hinged powder compartments on the other side. There is a small silver nub near the hinge on the outside that once may have attached a carrying strap. Weighs approx. 4.3 troy oz. (including mirror).
