491. A Fine Tiffany Glass and Bronze Filigree Poppy Lamp, Circa 1899-1918,
The conical shade with three panel border; composed of an undulating pattern of budding and blooming poppy blossoms in fiery striated orange and red glass, with leaves in opalescent blue green on a mottled chartreuse ground, with blossom centers on the exterior overlaid with gilt bronze filigree, the bottom leaf border overlaid with gilt bronze filigree. Bronze, adjustable tripod base with brown patina. Measures approx. 26"T base closed, shade approx. 20" in diameter. Originally from the estate of Samuel L. Mather of Cleveland, Ohio.
Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) was one of the leading figures in the American art glass movement in the late 19th and early 20th Century. He ascribed to the Arts and Crafts aesthetic which championed the production of fine hand-craftsmanship within the decorative arts, and strove to raise the standards of designs for everyday objects used in the home.

492. A Magnificent D'Ore Bronze Chandelier, ca. 20th Century
An ornately detailed thirteen light fixture with scrolled arms supported by a central urn and baluster stem with foliate scroll adornments, acanthus leaves and other motifs, in a bright bronze finish, 48"H x 44" diameter at the widest. Electrified, with ornate chandelier chain, some of which was recently hand made and gilded and added for length.

493. A Pairpoint "Puffy" Lamp
A delicately scaled Pairpoint "Puffy" lamp, with an patinated metal base, approx. 14" tall, bottom of base 4-1/4" diameter, with a reverse painted irregularly cast glass shade, 6" tall, approx. 9" diameter. The ornamentation painted on the shade is a combination of blue & white "plaid" striping, yellow and rose color flowers and butterflies. Sticker inside the base indicates that it is lacquered, clean only with a damp cloth. Made by Pairpoint Corp., New Bedford, Mass. ca. 1907-1929.

495. A Lovely French Pate Sur Pate Lamp, Mid-19th Century
A lovely mid-19th Century French Pate Sur Pate Lamp, fashioned in two parts connected by brass fittings, in the shape of a double handled urn, with a carved brass base with two griffon feet and two decorative scroll feet, with cast brass handles on either side surmounted by Egyptian Revival heads, the top cap fitted as an oil lamp with pierced brasses and a clear glass hurricane. The body of the lamp in Pate Sur Pate is celadon green with a Greek key design in white enamel around near the base and around the shoulder, and a Neo-Classical basket of fruit and flowers in Minton style on one side and the image of a beautiful young lady dancing and holding a grapevine above her, wearing a short diaphanous dress on the other side. Overall the lamp measures 25" to the top of the hurricane.

496. A Mid-19th Century French Pate Sur Pate Lamp
A fine mid-19th Century French Pate Sur Pate Lamp, in a bulbous tapering vase shape with carved pierced brass fittings at the top and a carved brass pierced fitting as the base. The lamp has two sockets and features an ornate fitting made to look like a turn-key with griffon heads as a detail. The body is celadon green with a beautifully enameled floral spray on each side in white. They are beautifully translucent and airy.

A small Pate Sur Pate lamp, French, ca. mid-19th Century in a balluster shape in pale green with white floral enameled designs on either side, with brass fittings and an ebony-finished wood section in the base between brasses. Overall the lamp measures 14-1/2"H to the top of the cap (without the socket).

498. A 19th Century French Glass and Brass Lamp
A 19th Century French glass lamp in the shape of an oil lamp, with a bulbous vase shape in light grey decorated white glass that has silhouettes of Neo-Classical designs, one a simple four-pointed design and the other a red medallion shape with a laurel-crowned bust in profile in the center. The base of the lamp is a pierced cast brass base on plinth feet with Fleur de Lis ornaments and the electrical switch (without a knob). The cap is also carved brass, above which is a cut glass oil receptacle and the pierced fittings where a hurricane once sat. The shade is a printed texture on paper shade with cotton woven tape trim, of irregular form. The lamp overall is 22"H to the top with out the socket.

499. A Rare Pair of Large Chinese Lamps Made from 19th Century Vases
A rare pair of Chinese porcelain lamps on cast brass bases, 25"H from the bottom of the bade to the top of the lid (not including the harp). The covered urn shapes are decorated in relief with pomegranates in polychrome glazes with gilt accents. The foliage is also in relief, as are the small gilt dragons that form "handles" at either side of the neck. Among the leaves, Chinese figures posture about the scene.

500. A Fine Pair of Rose Famille Lamps
A fine pair of Rose Famille porcelain lamps, baluster in shape, with polychrome glaze and relief decorations, approx. 20"H from the bottom of the base to the cap (not including the harp). The caps are contemporary brass. The porcelain is fitted onto a double brass base with lion paw feet between the two, in an antiqued gold finish. The applied ornaments are in the shape of salamanders and insects, and the decoration on the body is floral with Chinese courtly scenes in between.
