852. A Hand Painted Ebonized Snuff Box An early hand painted ebonized snuff box, 3-5/8" in diameter x 5/8" H, with a charming painting on the lid of two ladies in an interior. One lady is seated and has just finished writing a letter. She hands it to the lady standing behind her. The setting is a bedchamber, with a draped bed at the left, a fancy gilded framed painting on the wall and an open door at the right. Before the seated lady is a pedestal table on which stand writing implements and a letter box and two lit candles in candlesticks. On display in the Pittsburgh PA gallery. 100/200 Sold: $63.25 |

853. A Russian Fedoskino Lacquer Box, Painted by E. Aldoshkin A Russian lacquer box, with a traditional black lacquer exterior, and a red lacquer interior. A painting on the top of the lid of a young prince and his bride riding through a forest atop a wolf, represents a work by Victor Vasnetsov "Ivan Tsarevich Riding the Grey Wolf" 1889, now located at the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia.
