547. A Large Majolica Istoriato Charger, Italian, Circa 17th Century
A large charger with a complex scene in polychrome glazes. Hand decorated glazed earthenware, 19-3/4" in diameter x 2-7/8"H. The Istoriato style of pottery decoration, originating about 1500 in Faenza, Italy, and popular throughout the 16th century, in which paintings comparable in seriousness to Italian Renaissance easel paintings were applied to majolica ware. The subjects, usually biblical, historical, and mythological scenes, are executed with a realism, including the use of perspective.

548. A Meissen Hand Painted Plaque
An ovoid porcelain plaque, painted with the "Penitent Magdalene" after Correggio, draped in blue velvet, lying in a woodland grotto reading a book, inscribed mark on verso "H 147" marked in glaze with the crossed swords mark, hand written "Circa 1770-1810 Meissen" (this recently written), framed in a gilt oval frame with a burgundy velvet liner and a braided fillet. Plaque measures approx. 4-1/2" x 5-1/2", overall with frame 8-1/2" x 10-1/4".

Handsome portrait of Napoleon on a porcelain plaque. Signed Wagner in the lower right corner; in a carved dark wood frame. Back of the plaque is marked with an imprinted crown and shield stamp and number "107". The plaque measures approx. 5-3/4" x 4"; framed overall approx. 6-5/8" x 5"W.

550. A Sevres Lidded Bowl with Bronze Ormolu Mounts, French, Circa 1890
A Sevres lidded bowl with ormolu mounts, overall approx.7" in diameter (porcelain alone) x 11"H to the top of the finial. The porcelain bowl mounted onto a pierced pedestal base with beaded and carved foliate details, with three fittings in the form of busts of classically garbed winged maidens on a curvilinear foliate support, with a matching finial surmounting the lid with acanthus leaves and berries. The porcelain is hand painted with a chartreuse background with tiny green flowers and gilt clobbering, with bands of meandering multicolor flowers on a ribbon-like background, edged by gilt clobbering. The finial is also surrounded by a smaller band of colorful flowers. The bowl part of the porcelain is pierced with a row of circles just below the lip.

551. A KPM Figural of History and Mars
A KPM allegorical figural of History and Mars, on a circular mound base, decorated with laurel leaves, glazed in hand painted polychrome glazes with gilt detailing. Mars is seated on a marble pedestal, where he supports the standing History. He holds his shield and sword and rests one foot on his helmet. History carries a book and gazes down on Mars with dispassionate interest. The figural is marked inside and has "Geschichte & Mars" in relief on the edge of the base. The figure measures 17-3/4"H.

An adorable figurine of a singing angel holding a music sheet. Rococo style base and the figurine are accented with gilt. The base is marked with an underglazed mark of the double crossed blue swords emblem, incised numbers" 0 192" and "125", as well as numbers "143" and "04" in black marker, and "18". The figurine measures approx. 6"T.

553. A Chelsea Derby Porcelain Figurine of John Milton
A Chelsea Derby soft paste porcelain figure of John Milton, the poet depicted next to a classically decorated column on which sits three books and a scroll, overall approx. 12-1/2"H x 6-3/4"W x 5-1/4"D. The mold was created ca. 1765. The white porcelain is hand decorated with a purple color on his cape, life-like color on his face and hands, yellow on the slippers, grey on the hair, red and yellow on the books, aqua on the base, and gilt accents overall. The scroll is lettered in gilt "Into The Heav'n of Heavens I Have Presum'd an Earthly Guest and Drawn Empyreal Air". No marks were found on the bottom. Originally this figurine was produced as one of a pair with a figurine of Shakespeare being the other.

A large Royal Dux figural depicting a man wearing flowing robes, seated on a camel, on a mound base, with a man carrying parcels and baskets standing below. Overall the piece is approx. 24"H x 20"W x 10"D. In softly colored glazes of sand color, pale green and pinks with gold-tone highlighting. Marked underneath with the pink triangular Royal Dux mark, and impressed mark, the number 1/60, the number 10046, the number 78, and hand painted in glaze "A.I.".

A large glazed terracotta urn, in three parts, in a mottled brown and ivory glaze, 45"H x 17"W at the widest point. A traditional double handled urn shape with ornamentation on the surface with swags of fruits and foliate and lion head ornaments. No mark found.

556. A Glazed Ceramic Tureen, ca. Late 19th/Early 20th Century, Possibly Eichwald
A richly sculpted Italian glazed ceramic centerpiece, in a boat form on a pedestal, with figureheads of angels on either end with swags of fruits connecting to the center side images of satyr's heads. The pedestal has heads of putti within sculpted scrollwork. The exterior is glazed in a deep teal blue, tan and aqua with gilt accents; the interior is glazed mainly in aqua. Overall the vessel is 10-5/8"H at the tallest x 16"W x 9-1/2"D. the number "221" is incised inside the base and there is a small "B" in gilt indicating the decorator.
