Although similar, the knives were manufactures by two different makers: six by the Bremer Silberwarenfabrik, Bremen, 1905-1981; and the other six by the M. H. Wilkens & Söhne, Bremen-Hemelingen (founded 1810). Sterling silver handles are marked with appropriate state silver 800 standard marks. Stainless steel blades. Measure approx. 9-1/2"L.

A lot of several pieces of pretty silver plate table accessories, consisting of a Victorian creamer and sugar bowl with double handles and lid, a pair of classical urn-shaped salt and pepper castors, and a wine coaster with a splayed fluted side and pretty deeply engraved foliate patterns, marked "Made in England" and hallmarked on the bottom. The castors are 6"H, the sugar bowl is 7-1/2" x 4-1/2" x 4-1/2"H, the creamer is 5" x 3" x 4"H, and the coaster is 6-3/4" in diameter at the widest.

483. A Silver Plate Shell Centerpiece
A graceful silver plate centerpiece, marked on the bottom "Middletown Plate Co. Middletown, Conn...958", comprised of a circular mound base, 5-1/2" in diameter, with an openwork pedestal with grapevines and cast grape leaves wound around, with a large shell shape as the bowl with a scrolling handle at one side on which is a cast form of grapes with a bird in flight diving to it. The shell shape measures 11" x 9-3/4", the overall height of the piece is 11".

484. A Silvered Chaffing Dish Serving Piece
A large silver plate chaffing dish, consisting of a stand with a burner below, water container, double handled dish, divider insert, and a lid with a removable handle. The base has four legs with fluting, cast lion's paws for the feet, and lion's heads in relief at the top; the rim of the stand has a relief rope detail. The water container is plain, with a 1" circle of discoloration on the bottom from heat. The double handled container has a rope relief detail on the rim and two applied handles in the shape of large baroque shells, and is marked "B. Tobert" on the bottom. The divider insert is plain with a scalloped top edge and a plain button handle. The lid has a hand tooled grapevine and leaf motif around the perimeter and a rope relief detail encircling the top. The removable open handle is of rococo foliate and shell cast details. The overall piece measures approx. 13"H to the top of the handle x 14" in diameter at the widest point.

A very pretty fancy silver plate tray and a divided serving dish with a lid with a removable handle by Reed & Barton, in the "Victorian" pattern. The tray measures 19-1/2" x 13-1/2" x 1"D; the serving dish measures 14" x 10" x 5"H to the top of the handle. Both have a graceful irregular shape with scrolling in and out raised lip and foliate handles. Both are marked on the bottom.

487. A Lot of Victorian Silver Plate Tea Service Items
A lot of Victorian silver plate tea service items, consisting of a teapot resting on a stand with a small burner in the center below, the fittings all of relief cast motifs with floral decorations, the body with etched and carved floral and geometric designs, the handle with a pointed Middle-Eastern arch shape, and the stand on small bun feet. The hinged lid has flowing fluting and a bun shaped handle. Overall the teapot and stand measure approx. 12"H x 7"W, and is marked on the bottom by Reed & Barton. The second item in the lot is an unusual Reed & Barton Cake stand, circular in form with a base embellished with foliate relief intersperced with circular medallions of a hound's head in profile, the top supported by three columns with are turned and fluted between which sits a cast figurine of the hound, and the top platform (which is somewhat bent) has as pierced repeating design in a band hanging from the edge. The cake stand measures 6-3/4"H x 10-1/2" in diameter at the top and 5-1/2" in diameter at the base. It is marked by the maker underneath. The third item is a coffee pot with a hunged lid, and the body and collar embellished with foliate forms in low relief, the spout and handle in cast relief foliate patterns, the bottom is marked by the Hartford Silver Plate Co. The coffee pot measures 8"H x 5" wide in diameter at the widest point. The fourth item in the lot is a cream pitcher, 4"H x 3-7/8" in diameter with flowers in low relief on the sides and other relief ornaments on the base and collar. The creamer is marked on the bottom by the Wilcox Silver Plate Co. of Meriden. Conn.
