A sanguine drawing of a nude woman with white highlighting on paper mounted onto paper with ink and wash borders, signed in the lower right corner in pencil, and again indistinctly below in the border, matted in a French lined mat and framed under conservation glass in a beautiful white gold burnished frame with corner ornaments of rosettes in squares, 12" x 8-1/4" sight size, with framing overall 19-1/4" x 15". There is a label affixed to the back attributing the drawing to another artist, Etienne Jeaurat (1699-1789).

Sketch for a Decorative Panel. Gouache on paper, formerly framed under glass but now lacking the glass, 14-3/4" x 9-1/2". Sweet depiction with two small children, one reading a letter the other blowing a hunting horn. Their setting is an overgrown classical garden complete with a sculptural urn and distant obelisk/pyramid. With gilt liner, silk mat and gold leaf frame, entire item measures apprx 24"H x 18-1/2"W. There are exhibition labels preserved and mounted on the dust cover, verso. Labels state the provenance to be from the collection of David Weill (L432-c-d).

There is a label on the back of the dust cover from Grand Central Art Galleries, Inc. from an exhibition entitled "La Femme", March 6 - August 15, 1984.

"Miss Lucia". Watercolor on paper, signed lower right, matted and framed under glass, 14" x 21" image size, with matting and frame 26" x 32". This is one of twelve paintings of different setters commissioned by Harry Ransom Edwards. The dog was named for Lucia (Mrs. Charles A. Otis) nee Edwards. Harry Edwards owned a farm in Chardon, Ohio with breeding stock of setters. Whenever one of his housebred dogs was made a Field Triple Champion he had it painted by Osthaus (a personal friend). (Paraphrased from a letter written about the painting in 1984 by Mrs. Dan Hanna.) Other information about the descent of the piece is written on the back of the framing.

The clergyman is in a posture of blessing the young woman as older people happily look on. The attention to detail is extreme in the rendering of the people and the interior.

A wonderfully painted composition, with a young lady in a brown dress with a blue ribbon tied in her white lace collar, gazing upward at a blossom and surrounded by leaves and flowers of a tree.
